How Distill handles your stories
Work stories are sensitive. Here's exactly what happens, in plain words.
What we collect
Your voice notes, their transcripts, the lessons and posts we write (with every version), your edits, the email addresses you give us, the photo, name and role you choose for your quote cards (a copy of your LinkedIn photo only if you ask us to use it), and any feedback you send. Also your time zone and country (for nudge timing) and your IP address and device type (for sign-in security and abuse limits).
Who processes it
Your audio and text are sent to our AI providers only to turn your voice into text and to write your lesson. An email service delivers our emails to the address you give us. If something breaks on our side, an error-reporting service receives technical details and an anonymous account number, never your words or audio. We don't sell your data.
What we don't do
Post anything for you. You copy the post and publish it yourself, after a privacy check that points out names and details that could identify people.
Your audio
Kept privately so only you can replay it, and deleted automatically after 30 days. Delete it sooner from any lesson.
Your photo
Your photo is kept privately, shown only to you and on the cards you download, and deleted when you remove it or delete your account.
Public pages
Nothing you write is public. Public lesson pages come later and will be opt-in.
Deleting
Anything you delete is gone right away (you get a few seconds to undo). Backup copies that might still hold it expire within 14 days.
You'll see what happens before anything is deleted.
